Conference Prep

Thank you for registering for the youngPOWER conference.  It will be an amazing day as we break down stereotypes, chip away at the walls that divide us, and identify paths for taking action in our communities.  You will come away with new friends, new connections and new understandings.

Expectations of participants:  Come ready to be engaged and honest with yourself and others around you.  Be willing to learn, to take risks, and to candidly share stories about your experiences.

Story Preparation:

A key part of the day will be our sharing a story with each other.

Please come to the youngPower conference with a story you are prepared to tell a small group.  It does not need to be written out, but can be, and should be about 3 minutes long.

The story should reveal something real and true about who you are or something you have experienced. It should reveal something about your identity and be linked in some way to one or more of the Big 8 identifiers: Race, Gender, Ethnicity, Sexuality, Age, Religion, Ability, Class/Socioeconomic status.
